Abstract

Concious of environment problem in latest decade, to cause many countries to define application lead compound in motor gasolines. The experiment has conducted for evaluation quality of MMT (Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl) additive to compare with TEL (Tetra Ethyl Lead) that is more than 70 years ago to be used. The experimentation has carried out together with technicien team of Ethyl Corporation to be produced MMT meant. The experimental has shown, for in behalf of MMT 9 ~ 36 mgram Mn/litre concentration base on motor gasoline components of 77.3 and 82.5 Research Octane Number (RON), the increase octane number roundabout of 1.7 ~ 4.1 RON. This actane gain lower than TEL with smallish concentration of 0.08 ~ 0.28 mgram Pb/litre, now with standing to be able increase the actane gain roundabout of 2.8 ~ 7.9 RON on the same test samples.
